Map Stamps and Closed Posts
Now that the new 2020 maps are out and the COVID-19 lockdowns are relaxing, it’s time to hit the open road and start supporting our Posts! Since most Posts are still either closed or open with limited hours, it would be good practice to call ahead and/or check websites and social media pages to plan your trips accordingly. While all of the participating Posts should have a stamp by now, if they don't have one for some reason, simply have the bartender initial off in their map square. If you come across a Post that is not open, then attaching a photo to your map of yourself or your group in front of the Post with a sign-off in that Post’s map square by the road captain will be sufficient to count as a valid stop. While your personal goal is to get as many stamps on your map as possible, it’s important to remember that the other main purpose of the maps is to generate support and revenue for each participating Post. They have invested in this program and it only works if they get a return on that investment. Therefore, even if you do use a photo and sign-off, the hope is that you’ll take the time to return for an actual stamp. There’s still plenty of time between now and March 31st 2021! Hopefully things will return to normal very soon and we can all get back to hitting the circuit, supporting our Posts and enjoying the rides!
